Etta Wells

WEBB CITY, Mo. - Etta M. Wells, 90, formerly of 314 S. Webb St., died at 4 a.m. Tuesday at a Webb City nursing home after a long illness.

Mrs. Wells was born March 14, 1895, at Hartville.  She had lived in Webb City since 1900.  She was a retired licensed practical nurse.  She was a member of the Webb City First Baptist Church, Webb City Chapter 204 of the Order of the Estern Star and the Rebekah Lodge of Webb City.  Her husband, Archie Wells, died in 1925.

Survivors include two sons, Clyde Wells, Joplin route 3; Paul Wells, Carthage; four brothers, Marion Goswick, Racine; Clarence Goswick, Carterville; and Lloyd Goswick and Albert Goswick, both of Fort Smith, Ark.; two sisters, Clara Marshall and Jean Shivley, both of Webb City; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City.  The Rev. Max. L. Wells will officiate.  Burial will be in Carl Junction Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Merl Bennett, Tom Willett, Rick Wells, Ronnie Wells, Vernon Wells and Randy Wells.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
